Public Events and Celebrations

In June 2016 TPA presented our first panel discussion focusing on TGD people in the workforce, in association with Stonewall for Pride Week.  We went on to produce a candlelight vigil for Transgender Day of Remembrance and have continued to produce these events annually.

Our Trans Stories – a Celebration was picked up by Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras and headlined Queer Thinking at Carriageworks in February 2018. It has gone on to become My Trans Story and tour nationally.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade

In 2017 twenty five of our members proudly marched in our first Mardi Gras Parade, in 2018 this grew to fifty. In 2019 we were honoured to be selected as one of three community organisations to be a special Mardi Gras produced float.  This meant eighty members joined us and we shone like diamonds on Oxford Street.

We’ve been honoured with a SGLMG Special Commendation for both our entries.  We’re excited to march again in 2020.

Social Events

We arrange social get togethers at regular intervals throughout the year, usually on a public holiday to ensure people from our community have someone to connect with on these occasions.  Some of the social events hosted in the past include have been Christmas picnics, Valentines day dinners, Anzac day lunch, a Studio 54 party and more.

We host workshops specifically for the trans and gender diverse community.

In 2018 we’ve produced a beard and grooming workshop facilitated by men’s grooming expert Will Fennell from Will and Peta Skincare and Biadroga and a Hair and Make-up Workshop at Chiquels Wigs, Beauty and Hair.
